Major seventh chords are four-note chords; that is, they consist of four notes

The first note is the root.
The second note is located two whole tones above the root, forming a major third interval.
The third note is located one and a half tones above the second note, forming a perfect fifth interval above the root.
The fourth note is located two whole tones above the third note, forming a major seventh interval above the root.

The formula of a major seventh chord is:
Root – Major Third – Perfect Fifth – Major Seventh
(1 – 3 – 5 – 7)

Major seventh chords have a smooth, warm, and sophisticated sound. They are widely used in jazz, pop, R&B, soul, and many other styles of music.

آکوردهای هفتم ماژور (Major Seventh) آکوردهایی چهارصدایی هستند؛ یعنی از چهار نت تشکیل شده‌اند.

نت اول، نت پایه (Root) است.
نت دوم، دو پرده بالاتر از نت پایه قرار دارد و فاصلهٔ سوم بزرگ (Major Third) را تشکیل می‌دهد.
نت سوم، یک و نیم پرده بالاتر از نت دوم قرار دارد و نسبت به نت پایه، فاصلهٔ پنجم درست (Perfect Fifth) را تشکیل می‌دهد.
نت چهارم، دو پرده بالاتر از نت سوم قرار دارد و نسبت به نت پایه، فاصلهٔ هفتم بزرگ (Major Seventh) را تشکیل می‌دهد.

فرمول آکورد هفتم ماژور:
پایه – سوم بزرگ – پنجم درست – هفتم بزرگ

(1 – 3 – 5 – 7)

آکوردهای هفتم ماژور صدایی ملایم، گرم و دلنشین دارند و در عین حال حال‌وهوایی غنی و پیچیده به موسیقی می‌بخشند. این آکوردها به‌طور گسترده در سبک‌های جَز، پاپ، R&B، سول و بسیاری از سبک‌های دیگر موسیقی استفاده می‌شوند.
